PE Applicants Routes
PE Standard Route

Eligibility:

  • Seven years of professional (registered general engineer) experience after receiving the Master’s degree in an engineering subject.
  • The Master’s degree and the University shall be recognized by the NEC,
  • Minimum two years in responsible position of significant engineering activities,
  • 30 hrs. CPD in the previous year.

Evaluation Process:

  • Assessment of Competence Standards
  • Written Examination (Subjective/Essay type)
  • Interview
PE Registered Route

Eligibility:

  • Four-years of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the recognized University.
  • Seven years of professional experience after receiving the Master’s degree in the related engineering field.
  • 30 hrs. CPD in the previous year.
  • PE title from the recognized institution which provides competency based registration of engineers and belongs to IPEA of International Engineering Alliance.

Evaluation Process:

  • Review/Verification of submitted documents with the application.
  • Interview (as determined by the Committee).


A. How To Fill Application

Application form for exam can be applied online by those who have completed their Master's Degree or Higher Degree in Engineering from the universities.

1. The candidate can only pay their exam fee and registration fee using the Khalti and eSewa and Connect IPS gateway provided in their dashboard.

2. Log in to the Dashboard: Candidates should first log in to their account using username/email and password.

3. Make the Payment: Complete the required payment using secure methods available on the portal.

4. Submit the Application: Fill in required details, submit the form, and select the exam center.

5. Confirmation: You will receive confirmation via email or dashboard notification.

6. Candidates who have previously appeared for the NEC exam can reapply through their dashboard by completing payment and resubmitting the application.

B. Fee Information

1. Application Fee: Rs. 3,000/- (to be deposited at online application)

2. P.Eng. Registration Fee: Rs. 20,000/- (after passing exam)

3. Renew Fee: Rs. 10,000/-

4. Late Renewal Fee: Rs. 5,000/-

5. Registration Fee (for already registered engineers): Rs. 10,000/-

NOTE: Fees once deposited will not be refunded.
C. Required Documents

The following documents are required for the application process:

1. Certified copy of academic qualification certificate (Master’s and Higher Degree)

2. Certified copy of Nepali Citizenship Certificate

3. Certified copy of equivalency certificate (if required)

4. Documents showing work experience

5. Documents related to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

6. Certified copy of Council General Engineer Registration Certificate
